Razer has officially introduced the Razer Freyja, a high-definition haptic gaming cushion designed to transform conventional gaming chairs into immersive sensory experiences. The launch marks the commercial debut of the technology first showcased as Project Esther during CES 2024, bringing advanced tactile feedback to gamers seeking deeper engagement with their favorite titles.
Powered by Razer Sensa HD Haptics, the Freyja features six voice-coil haptic actuators capable of generating multidirectional tactile sensations synchronized with in-game events. From subtle environmental cues to powerful explosions, the cushion is engineered to reproduce physical feedback with greater precision than traditional vibration systems, enhancing players’ awareness of direction, intensity, and movement.
The accessory attaches to most gaming and office chairs using adjustable straps and connects via Razer HyperSpeed Wireless for low-latency PC gaming or Bluetooth for broader compatibility with Android devices and multimedia content. In addition to supporting more than 100 titles with native Sensa integration, Freyja can also convert audio signals into haptic feedback, extending the immersive experience to games without dedicated support, as well as movies and music.
Users can customize vibration intensity and individual haptic zones through Razer Synapse 4, allowing them to tailor the experience to different genres and personal preferences. The software provides granular control over each motor, enabling adjustments that range from subtle tactile effects to more pronounced physical feedback.
