PUMA and The Pokémon Company have officially revealed the latest chapter in their ongoing collaboration: the Pokémon x PUMA All-Pro Nitro 2 “Pikachu”, dubbed “Impactrueno” in Spanish-speaking markets as a direct nod to the iconic Electric-type move. This marks the first time the partnership brings a performance basketball silhouette to the hardwood, following last year’s highly successful Mewtwo-themed PUMA Suede.
The sneaker pays homage to Pokémon’s most famous character — Pikachu, the electric mouse ranked #25 in the original 151 — while delivering genuine court-ready technology. The upper and midsole explode in a vibrant “Yellow Alert” or Pikachu yellow base, contrasted by sharp black underlays that mirror the character’s signature fur markings. Red suede wraps the eyestays to evoke Pikachu’s rosy cheeks, while a deeper maroon tone anchors the heel area. Subtle metallic or silver detailing slices through PUMA’s iconic Formstrip for an extra jolt of energy.
Discreet branding keeps the look sophisticated rather than overly cartoonish: a cross-armed Pikachu graphic appears on the medial heel beside Pokémon co-branding, with matching logos stamped on the insoles. The engineered multi-zone mesh upper provides targeted support and constant ventilation, and the high-abrasion rubber outsole features two distinct traction patterns — a radial design at the heel and an abstract chain-like pattern at the forefoot — optimized for quick cuts and multi-directional movement on indoor courts.
Underfoot, the standout feature is PUMA’s NITRO SQD foam midsole: a double-density nitrogen-injected cushioning system engineered for immediate response and superior impact protection during explosive basketball movements. The result, according to the partners, is not merely a collector’s item but a high-performance tool designed for real athletic use — allowing fans to take their digital identity and nostalgia straight onto the court.
The drop is scheduled for April 1, 2026, at a retail price of $140 USD. Pairs will be available through PUMA.com and select retailers worldwide, in unisex sizing. The launch kicks off broader celebrations tied to Pokémon’s 30th anniversary in 2026, signaling PUMA’s commitment to evolving the collaboration from lifestyle drops into full performance territory.
