LOEWE has captured the fashion world’s attention with the launch of its new Type Fussbett Sandals, a design that transforms branding into part of the product itself. Instead of displaying a traditional logo, the Spanish luxury house cleverly integrates its name into the sandals’ oversized metal buckles, creating a subtle detail that has quickly gone viral on social media.
At first glance, the sandals appear to be a minimalist leather design with multiple straps and buckles. A closer look, however, reveals that each buckle has been shaped to represent one letter of the brand’s name, spelling L-O-E-W-E across the upper. The hidden typography has become a talking point among fashion enthusiasts, who have praised the design for rewarding careful observation rather than relying on overt branding.
The design reflects a broader shift in luxury fashion. While the industry spent years embracing oversized logos before moving toward the understated aesthetic of quiet luxury, LOEWE has found a middle ground. Rather than eliminating branding altogether, the company has embedded its identity into the craftsmanship of the product itself, allowing the logo to become part of the sandal’s construction instead of an added graphic.
The Type Fussbett Sandals are available in suede and vegetable-tanned calfskin finishes and retail for approximately €1,000 (around $1,250 USD), positioning them within the brand’s premium footwear collection. Reports indicate that demand has been so strong that several sizes have already sold out on LOEWE’s website.
Fashion analysts also point to the sandals as an example of experiential branding. Instead of making the logo immediately visible, LOEWE encourages consumers to “discover” it themselves. That moment of recognition has fueled online conversations and user-generated content, turning the sandals into one of the season’s most talked-about luxury accessories.
