Seoul, South Korea — In their first full-group performance in nearly four years, BTS has dominated global streaming platforms, breaking multiple records following the release of their fifth full-length album ARIRANG on March 20, 2026, and the live broadcast of their comeback concert on Netflix.
Netflix reported that the special BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG, filmed at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul and featuring RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook together for the first time since their hiatus, drew 18.4 million viewers. This figure includes initial streams and views from the following day. The concert special ranked in Netflix’s Top 10 in 80 countries and claimed the No. 1 spot in 24 of them. More recent tracking showed it holding the top position in Netflix’s Top 10 Movies category across 77 countries and regions, including South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico.
The event marked the first time Netflix has streamed a live solo artist (or group) performance in real time, amplifying the comeback’s global reach.
On Spotify, ARIRANG immediately became the most-streamed K-pop album in the platform’s history and the most-streamed album in a single day so far in 2026. The album debuted with 110 million streams on its first day of release, with every track from the project occupying the top 14 positions on Spotify’s Global chart—the lead single “SWIM” (track seven) taking the No. 1 spot. Spotify itself confirmed the milestone, stating that ARMY fans had made ARIRANG “the most streamed K-Pop album in Spotify history and the most streamed album in a single day in 2026.” The album also surpassed five million presaves, ranking among the most pre-saved projects in Spotify history.
The comeback follows a 3-year-and-9-month hiatus during which the members fulfilled mandatory military service. ARIRANG has been widely praised by international media as a powerful new chapter for the group. Rolling Stone called it a “perfect comeback” that “emphasizes Korean roots while boldly exploring new musical territories,” while NPR noted how the album “demonstrates how BTS has built a unique musical identity.”
The release also generated strong first-day sales, with over 3.98 million copies sold on day one, further underscoring the enduring global power of BTS and their dedicated fanbase, ARMY.
